Will Mahala brings top-end speed and upside to UVA’s outfield
Will Mahala is a freshman outfielder for Virginia in the 2025-26 season, and the early buzz is all about tools: a 6-foot-2 left-handed bat, a right-handed arm, plus speed, and real athletic upside. Baseball America described him as a tooled-up outfielder and noted he clocked a 6.57-second 60-yard dash, which screams range and game-changing burst. He also flashed power early, hitting his first college home run in Virginia’s record-setting 31-run win over Wagner in the 2026 season. If you want a high-upside athlete who can impact the game with speed, defense, and developing pop, he’s a good name to know.
