Elizabeth Romer brings freshman shot-making and size to UTRGV's backcourt
Romer, a 5-foot-11 guard from Wichita, arrived at UTRGV as a 1,000-point high school scorer with a reputation for perimeter scoring and steady production, and in the 2024-25 season she shot 36.0% from the field and 35.4% from three while averaging 3.2 points in 9.3 minutes per game. She gives the Vaqueros a tall guard who can space the floor, has legitimate shot confidence, and already showed flashes as a catch-and-shoot weapon; the fit looks strongest for a team needing a developmental, floor-stretching backcourt piece rather than a high-usage creator.
