Hunter Gillis brings fresh-arm upside to Stony Brook’s lefty mix
Hunter Gillis is a freshman left-handed pitcher for Stony Brook in the 2026 season, and the most visible public indicator right now is that he’s listed on the Seawolves’ roster as a 6-foot-5, 195-pound arm from Massapequa, New York[1][2]. Earlier scouting notes on Gillis praised his athletic frame, easy arm action, and potential for more velocity and spin as he matures, which points to a developing pitchability-lefty profile rather than a finished product[6]. If you’re looking for a projectable, locally recruited southpaw with room to grow, he’s an intriguing “bet on the upside” fit[6].
