Ali Hood brings length, upside, and a developing power arm to Lafayette's rotation
Ali Hood is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-hander from Greens Farms Academy who arrived at Lafayette with a reputation as a long, projectable arm and a high-ceiling mound profile in the class of 2024. He was identified by prep evaluators as a pitcher who moved to the mound in high school and quickly grew into a highly touted ace, with hitable raw bat strength also showing up in preps. For a team, the appeal is upside: he looks like a fit if you want a starter or bullpen piece who could keep trending up with development rather than a finished product.
