Javier Duren was Yale’s steady two-way engine and late-game closer
In the 2014-15 season, Javier Duren was a do-it-all Yale guard who averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 36.4% from three and 78.4% at the line. He wasn’t just productive—he was reliable in big moments, finishing as an All-Ivy first-team performer and ranking eighth all-time at Yale in assists and ninth in steals. If you want a composed, versatile guard who can score, facilitate, defend, and handle pressure without needing the spotlight, Duren was absolutely that guy.
