UIW’s Matthew Foley brings swing-and-miss flashes, but the early-2026 line has been bumpy
In the 2026 season, right-hander Matthew Foley has shown real strikeout ability in short bursts — including a three-strikeout inning against UTSA — but his overall results have been uneven, with tough outings versus Texas and Texas A&M. His fit is about upside more than polish: he can miss bats and give UIW competitive innings in relief or spot starts, but the run prevention has been volatile, so a team would want a pitcher with some development runway and a low-drama mound presence rather than a finished product.
