Jaylyn James brings scoring pop, rebounding punch, and a bounce-back edge for Louisiana
Jaylyn James has shown she can be a real two-way guard for the Ragin’ Cajuns: in the 2023-24 season, she averaged 8.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 27 games, then in the 2024-25 season she jumped to 9.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in nine games while shooting 42.9% from the field. She’s a fit if you want a guard who can score in bunches, rebound bigger than her size, and spark momentum—her 25-point, 8-rebound breakout against Arkansas State showed she can swing a game when she’s feeling it. The big caveat: she missed her first season with injury, so durability is part of the evaluation.
