Koa Won brings Nevada-winning pedigree and catcher upside to Hawai'i
Koa Won is a 2025 Hawai'i catcher prospect with clear defensive value and some sneaky upside: Perfect Game ranked him the No. 4 catcher in Nevada and No. 16 overall in the state, and he helped lead Basic Academy to a Nevada 5A Southern title in 2025. His high school bat was more contact-oriented than loud power, but that background suggests a steady, competitive player who knows how to win and could fit well for a team looking for catching depth and development potential rather than an immediate slugging threat.[1]
