Grant Nickel brings a big leg and proven field-position value for ACU
In the 2024 season, Grant Nickel was a reliable field-position weapon for Abilene Christian, averaging 42.4 yards per punt with a long of 56 and 22 punts downed inside the 20, after averaging 43.3 yards in 2023 and earning first-team All-UAC recognition for leading the league. He’s the kind of punter coaches love: consistent, strong-legged, and capable of flipping the script when the offense stalls. ACU’s own preview called him the team’s only true punter and said he was “punishing the ball,” which tracks with the production and the trust he’s earned.
