Justin Masteralexis brings strikeout upside and starter’s grit to UMass
In the 2025 season, the redshirt-senior lefty showed swing-and-miss ability with 10 strikeouts in 10.1 innings and a season-high seven strikeouts at Navy, but injuries cut his year short after three starts[1]. In the 2024 season, he earned Atlantic 10 All-Rookie honors, led UMass with a 4.14 ERA, went 5-1, and struck out 38 hitters in 50 innings, which is the kind of early-career production that tells you he can handle a rotation role when healthy[1].
