Iose Epenesa is a high-upside Iowa DL still growing into a disruptive Big Ten presence
Epenesa entered Iowa as a nationally elite 2025 defensive-line recruit, and his appeal is the blend of rare frame, power, and family pedigree, with Iowa staff saying in spring 2026 that he is “making strides” and “making plenty of plays on the ball.”[14][15] As a true freshman in 2025, he appeared in four games and logged his first career solo tackle for loss against Minnesota, so the production is still early, but his high school résumé, strong room-to-grow tools, and competitive intensity make him a classic development target for teams betting on long-term pass-rush upside.[2][15]
