Ashton Perkins gives UIW a steady, strike-throwing arm with swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Ashton Perkins has been a reliable right-handed option for Incarnate Word, earning multiple wins in relief and a start while showing he can miss bats and keep innings under control. He picked up wins against Abilene Christian and McNeese, and also struck out a game-high three over two innings versus ACU, hinting at a usable power profile and late-inning poise. What makes him interesting: he’s not just “another arm” — he’s been trusted in leverage, has handled both relief and starting work, and profiles as a competitive, bullpen-flexible fit for teams that value toughness and strike-throwing.
