UTEP Guard Malik Zachery Brings Efficient, Low-Usage Playmaking
Malik Zachery’s appeal is efficiency and composure: in UTEP’s 2022-23 season he played 15 games off the bench, averaged 10.7 minutes, and produced 2.6 points with 16 assists against 13 rebounds, while 247 Sports listed him at 3.6 points, 0.6 assists and 0.4 steals in 8.7 minutes over 7 games on strong shooting splits. That profile suggests a guard who can make quick, low-mistake decisions and give a team steady minutes rather than high-volume scoring. He looks best as a depth fit if you want a disciplined, role-ready backcourt piece rather than a primary creator.
