Missouri State LHP Sam Maclaughlin: strike-throwing lefty with upside and a polished delivery
Maclaughlin is a **strike-throwing left-hander** whose calling card is a smooth delivery, good sequencing, and a feel for pitching that gives him a higher floor than the usual projection arm. Perfect Game describes him as having “tons of velocity upside,” while other scouting notes point to a good mix and a bulldog mentality on the mound, suggesting competitiveness and composure in tight spots.[1][2][6] D1Baseball lists him as a Missouri State sophomore in 2026 with early-season results that still leave room for development, so he reads as a fit for a team that values projection, command, and mound presence over instant dominance.[4]
