Michael Petite brought real middle-order juice to VCU in 2026
In the 2026 season, Michael Petite emerged as a legitimate impact outfielder for VCU, playing every game in the Rams’ outfield and finishing with a power-speed profile that made him hard to ignore. He was ranked by D1Baseball as the No. 92 outfielder nationally, hit 14 home runs, drew 52 walks, and was hit by pitches 23 times, showing elite on-base toughness and a knack for getting under opponents’ skin. He also earned 2026 MLB Draft attention, going to the Mariners in the 19th round, which says plenty about the bat and the upside.
