6-foot-8 power arm Jack O’Malley adds size, strikeout upside to SJSU
In the 2025 season at Bucknell, Jack O’Malley logged 3 appearances and 2.1 innings, but his broader track record shows upside: in 2024 he struck out 50 in 32.0 innings as a starter, a clear sign the stuff can miss bats when he’s in rhythm. The big draw is obvious—at 6'8" and 245 pounds, he brings a steep downhill angle and power-profile frame that can be a tough fit for hitters. He’s a transfer arm with real intrigue, though command and run prevention will decide how quickly he becomes a reliable bullpen or rotation piece at San José State.
