Gardner Lawrence is giving Belmont a steady, clutch bat behind the plate
In the 2026 season, Gardner Lawrence has been a useful middle-of-the-order type for Belmont, hitting .269 with a .790 OPS in conference/cumulative stats and delivering timely damage, including a solo homer and RBI hits in key wins. He brings a polished left-right setup, experience at catcher and DH, and a reputation as a disciplined, high-baseball-IQ player who also helps with scouting and analytics work. The fit is attractive if a team wants a mature, versatile catcher who competes hard, stays prepared, and can chip in offensively without needing the spotlight.
