Johnny Montgomery brings mid-rotation relief grit to Niagara
In the 2026 season, Niagara RHP Johnny Montgomery has been a volume reliever with flashes of shutdown work, including multiple scoreless outings of 2.2 innings and two more shutout frames in team wins; across 11 appearances he posted an 0-1 record with a 9.64 ERA, 18.2 innings, and 6 strikeouts, so the raw run prevention hasn’t fully caught up yet. The appeal is the frame and role fit: a 6-foot-3, right-handed senior who can absorb innings and keep games from spiraling, especially if your staff values strike-throwing depth over pure bat-missing dominance.
