Big, battle-tested left tackle with SEC-ready girth
In the 2025 season, Shiyazh Pete was a plug-and-play left tackle for Kentucky after transferring from New Mexico State, bringing 6-foot-8 size, 12 career Kentucky starts, and 42 career starts overall into the Wildcats’ rebuild. He earned first-team All-Conference USA honors in 2023 and, in 2024, allowed just five QB pressures on 193 pass-blocking snaps after returning from a foot injury. What makes him interesting isn’t just the frame — it’s the experience, blindside reps, and pro-style development that made him a trusted stabilizer rather than a flashy highlight machine.
