Buffalo’s veteran back with a compact frame and local edge
In the 2026 season, Devare Mathis is listed as a senior running back for Buffalo at 5-foot-11, 202 pounds, bringing local familiarity, experience, and a sturdy build to the Bulls’ backfield[2][6][9]. His current production appears limited in public stat feeds, with Buffalo’s available 2025 data showing just 1 catch for 6 yards, so his value is more about depth, versatility, and readiness than headline numbers[1][15]. The differentiator here is the combination of senior maturity, hometown pride, and a physical profile that suggests he can handle traffic and contribute if called upon[2][9].
