Thomas Crabtree is giving Southern Miss a swing-and-miss arm with starter upside
In the 2026 season, Southern Miss RHP Thomas Crabtree showed a power-profile that plays: 46 strikeouts in 32 innings, plus a season-best eight Ks in 4.1 innings against Nicholls and a three-inning, one-hit shutout of Ole Miss[3][1]. At 6-foot-4, he brings length, strike-throwing improvement, and a track record of missing bats after dominating junior college ball, but his 6.75 ERA shows the command-and-contact consistency still has to sharpen[3][5][9]. If you want a live arm with upside, he’s intriguing; if you need instant polish, he’s still a work in progress[1][3].
