DaMetrius Upchurch brings size, rim protection, and inside scoring to N.C. A&T
Upchurch was a 6-foot-7 forward who arrived at North Carolina A&T after a strong high-school career built on production, physicality, and defensive impact: he averaged 19.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 4.2 blocks per game as a senior at Garner and earned Greater Neuse River Player of the Year honors. He also showed he could finish efficiently and protect the rim in big moments, which makes him attractive for a team needing a long, active frontcourt presence rather than a pure stretch forward.
