Matt Toomey brings on-base value and athletic corner-outfield upside for Long Beach State
Toomey looks like a useful left-handed bat with real on-base ability and some sneaky all-around utility: in 2026 he has reached base at a strong clip, and in 2025 he showed pop with 3 home runs while handling the outfield for Long Beach State. At 6-foot-3, he adds size, and team material has described him as athletic with defensive versatility. The fit question is simple: if you want a high-contact, competitive outfielder who can contribute without needing the offense built around him, he makes sense.
