Local lefty Matthew Tiendas brings contact, pop, and makeup to Santa Clara’s outfield
Matthew Tiendas, a 2026 freshman out of nearby Adrian Wilcox High, fits the Broncos’ “good local baseball player with upside” mold: a smooth left-handed swing, a reputation for hitting for contact and power, and a work ethic coaches clearly trust. Santa Clara’s own recruiting notes call him a premier local talent with strong makeup and a chance to compete for a job right away. In 2026, he’s listed on the Broncos roster as an outfielder, and the program’s stats page shows him early in his college career with limited production so far, but the long-term fit is intriguing.
