Desman Stephens II is USC’s rangy, rising MIKE with real playmaking juice
In the 2025 season, Desman Stephens II emerged as a full-time anchor for USC at linebacker, logging 627 snaps, never missing a game, and finishing with 84 tackles after a 2024 freshman season that included 13 tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble. He’s a 6-foot-3, 235-pound defender with rangy coverage ability, ball skills, and a reputation for rapid development after converting from receiver/safety. The fit is strong for teams that want a high-motor, adaptable linebacker who can handle the middle of the defense and keep getting better.
