Matt Sgambati’s arm is still finding its college footing at Stony Brook
In the 2025 season, Matt Sgambati worked mostly out of the bullpen for Stony Brook, appearing in 12 games with a 1-1 record, 8.40 ERA, 15.0 innings, and 7 strikeouts, and his 2026 line through available data shows a tough early stretch with a 16.20 ERA in 1.2 innings. He’s a big righty at 6'2"-6'5" and 195-200 pounds, with a projectable frame that scouts like, but his current differentiator is more upside than polish: he’s young, still developing command, and profiles as a power arm if the strike-throwing catches up.
