Georgetown's Towering RHP Will Newell: Raw Power and Size with Pro Potential
Will Newell, Georgetown's 6-8, 250-pound graduate student right-hander from Tallahassee, FL, brings elite physical tools as a senior-class pitcher with a commanding presence on the mound. His high school pedigree (Perfect Game FL #53 RHP, national #175) and Cape Cod League exposure highlight his strikeout upside—flashing 8.68 K/9 in prior college relief stints despite a 5.79 ERA. Still developing command, Newell's raw velocity, size-driven downhill plane, and late-life stuff make him a high-upside project for teams seeking power arms; perfect fit for bullpen depth or long-term starters with coaching.
