6'8" lefty Austin Waring brings rare size and upside to FAU’s mound mix
Austin Waring is a 6-foot-8, 225-pound left-handed pitcher for Florida Atlantic, which instantly makes him a matchup headache and a development piece worth watching in the 2026 season. FAU lists him as a sophomore from Apopka after time at Seminole State, and his profile suggests a power frame, deceptive angle, and plenty of projection rather than a finished product[1][5]. He also has recent competitive buzz from FAU’s 2026 team work, where he was mentioned among pitchers pushing for roles[9].
