6'7 lefty Garyson Smiddy brings projectable velocity and strike-throwing upside to Butler
Smiddy is a long, projectable **6'7 left-hander** whose profile is built on upside and efficiency: Butler noted that over the summer of 2024 he struck out **25 batters in 14 innings** with a **perfect ERA** and only **three walks**, and D1Baseball’s freshman stats show he logged **10.1 innings** for Butler in 2025. That combination of size, command and swing-and-miss ability makes him intriguing for a program that wants a developing arm who can grow into more impact without losing strike-throwing control.
