Lefty strikeout arm with swing-and-miss stuff, but command is the swing factor
Corbin Payne is a **6-foot-1, 195-pound junior left-handed pitcher** at Charleston Southern whose profile is built around getting strikeouts, with **20 Ks in 17.0 innings** in 2026 and a reported **fastball touching 88 mph** from Prep Baseball Report.[3][6][8] The upside is real: he has shown bat-missing ability and enough lefty angle to interest teams looking for a developmental arm, but his current results are uneven, including a **10.59 ERA** and a **1.52 WHIP** this season, so he fits best for a staff that values upside and believes it can tighten his command.[1][3][7]
