Evan Thomas is a long, left-handed infielder with summer-league pop and on-base polish
In the 2026 season, Evan Thomas redshirted at UC Santa Barbara, then flashed real impact in summer ball for Springfield: he hit .429 in a five-game stretch, drove in 13 runs, and was named West Coast League Player of the Week. The 6-foot-4 infielder brings a rare blend of size, left-handed bat speed, and run-producing upside, plus enough versatility that evaluators like his fit as a high-upside developmental piece. Why care? Because he looks like the kind of bat that can grow into a middle-of-the-order college weapon if the defense and physicality keep catching up.
