Chase Van Tol is SDSU’s do-it-all linebacker with a nose for impact plays
In the 2025 season, Chase Van Tol flashed as one of South Dakota State’s most disruptive linebackers, finishing with 38 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 sacks and 1 interception despite an injury-shortened year that capped his snaps. He stands out for athletic range, versatility and playmaking burst — the kind of defender coaches can move around the field and trust in big moments. If your team wants a high-motor linebacker who can rush, cover and finish, he’s a strong fit; the main watch item is durability after the 2025 injury.
