Rocco Garza-Gongora is giving UTRGV a left-handed bat with real pop and run production
In the 2026 season, Rocco Garza-Gongora has emerged as a productive left-handed outfielder for UTRGV, hitting .302 with 8 home runs, 36 RBI, and 55 runs scored, which points to an impact bat rather than a filler piece.[1] His profile stands out for a solid power-contact blend and athletic outfield tools, with prep data showing an 89 mph outfield velocity and strong exit-velocity numbers that support his offensive upside.[3] He looks like a fit for teams needing a capable corner-outfield bat who can also contribute on the bases and bring lineup balance from the left side.[4][1]
