Aden Velasquez is a useful, high-leverage arm for UCA with starter’s guts and reliever’s bite
Aden Velasquez enters the 2026 season as a 6'3", 185-pound sophomore pitcher for Central Arkansas, and his 2025 work showed real swingman value: he logged 44.1 innings with a 6.70 ERA, 36 strikeouts, 30 walks, and 2 wins, while also flashing enough late-game effectiveness to earn saves and a win in key spots. The big differentiator is competitiveness—UCA leaned on him in injury-thinned situations—and his profile suggests a durable arm with strikeout ability, though command still has to sharpen. He looks like a fit if your staff wants toughness, versatility, and upside.
