Two-way Canisius arm with academic polish and versatile upside
In the 2026 season, Matt Boffalo has been a depth piece for Canisius as a redshirt freshman pitcher/infielder, appearing in 9 games while posting 11.0 innings with 11 strikeouts and a 3.37 ERA in team stats, plus a 3-strikeout outing at Rider; his value is the rare mix of two-way flexibility, athletic background, and steady makeup, backed by a MAAC All-Academic nod and a high-school resume that included captaincy, a .300 average, 60 hits, and a 2.60 ERA. If you want a smart, competitive roster fit who can grow into more role value, he checks the “intriguing development project” box.
