Maia Scholtens gives UC Davis a steady right-handed arm with late-game poise
In the 2026 season, Maia Scholtens worked in 13 games for UC Davis, posted a 4.74 ERA, and showed swing-and-miss upside with a season-high 5 strikeouts against Utah Tech; she also earned the win in a 4-3 victory at Cal Poly, finishing the game by striking out the final batter with the tying run on third. Her value is less about flashy raw numbers and more about competitive leverage: she’s trusted in pressure spots, brings right-handed balance in the circle, and has already shown she can help close out tight games.
