Jaylon Dean-Vines brings length, pressure defense, and downhill athleticism to Vanderbilt
Jaylon Dean-Vines is a 6-foot-4 freshman guard for Vanderbilt and was described by the program as one of the class’s most dynamic athletes; in his high school and EYBL seasons, he showed a disruptive two-way profile with scoring, playmaking, and steals, including 15.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.9 assists as a senior and 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on the EYBL circuit. Vanderbilt’s pitch on him centers on energy, length, and impact plays rather than polished volume scoring, so he looks like a fit for a team that wants defense, pace, and upside more than day-one offense.
