Data-Driven Rookie Forward with Elite Shooting & Gritty Growth
Maya Makalusky, the 6'3" Indiana Hoosiers forward and 2025-26 All-Big Ten Freshman, averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and shot 44.7% FG (40.1% from 3) in her debut season, emerging from a slow start to earn B1G Freshman of the Week honors. Her differentiators include elite prep scoring (1,933 points), a 3.72 GPA, and a Miss Basketball pedigree, paired with a relentless intensity that turned early struggles into rhythm. She volunteers with Best Buddies, showing a personality that balances competitive fire with community care. You should care because she’s a data-backed, high-integrity prospect with room to grow into a double-digit scorer; she’s a perfect fit for teams needing a versatile, intelligent forward who shoots from deep, defends with 1.8 steals/game, and brings championship-level grit.
