a high-contact, high-OBP bat with catcher versatility
Lavey has been one of George Washington’s most reliable run producers, pairing a left-handed bat with strong on-base skills, gap power, and steady defense behind the plate and at first base. In the 2026 season, he hit .337 with a .463 OBP, 8 home runs, 37 RBI, and 42 walks, while also handling catching duties and throwing out 25 would-be base stealers. He looks like a disciplined, competitive, multi-position fit who adds both offensive consistency and defensive flexibility.
