Rece Verhoff gives UNC a veteran leg—and a record-breaking one
In the 2025 season, Verhoff was North Carolina’s most reliable scoring source, finishing 19-for-23 on field goals and 20-for-20 on extra points while earning All-ACC honorable mention. He also showed real range and ice-in-the-veins value, drilling a school-record 57-yard field goal and leading the Tar Heels in scoring. At 5-11, 190, he’s a fifth-year kicker with proven clutch production, but his fit is strongest if a team wants steady, high-floor special teams help with big-leg upside rather than a boom-or-bust project.
