UMBC’s Ayden Gonzalez is a steady bullpen arm with strikeout bite
In the 2025 season, Ayden Gonzalez appeared in 22 games for UMBC and posted a 3-1 record with 20 strikeouts in 26.0 innings, then carried that momentum into 2026 with multiple scoreless relief outings for the Retrievers. He profiles as a dependable right-handed reliever who can quiet innings, miss bats, and handle leverage without much drama — which coaches usually love. UMBC also highlighted him as a summer standout in 2024, where he logged a 1.24 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 18 innings for the Gaithersburg Giants, a nice clue that the arm plays beyond campus too.
