Areana Collins adds infield depth and local upside for Tennessee State
Areana Collins is a Tennessee State infielder from Clarksville, Tennessee, and her profile points to a versatile, coachable player with local roots and infield value for the Tigers[1][2]. Tennessee State lists her as an INF on the 2026 roster, while her recruiting profile identifies shortstop as her primary position, suggesting middle-infield range and defensive flexibility[1][5]. She did not participate in her freshman season in 2025, so the big question is how quickly her game translates once she gets live reps[1]. For a team looking for an energetic, development-friendly defender with upside rather than a stat-sheet headline machine, she’s a smart watchlist name[1][5].
