Rylan Sams brings a live arm and real Ohio pedigree to the Bobcats' mound
In the 2026 season, Ohio freshman RHP Rylan Sams made nine appearances and logged 13.1 innings with seven strikeouts, but also showed he’s still getting acclimated at this level, with command and run prevention works-in-progress. What makes him interesting is the backstory: he arrives from Oak Hill as a proven winner and captain, owning school records for single-season strikeouts (141) and career strikeouts (304), which points to real feel for missing bats and a competitive edge. If your staff values upside, toughness, and a pitcher who already knows how to carry a workload, Sams is a name to watch.
