big-bodied Redbirds right-hander trending as a high-strikeout bullpen weapon
Cormier is a 6'6" right-handed pitcher for Illinois State who looks like a matchup problem when he’s on: in April 2026, he delivered a “gem” in a 1-0 win over Bradley, helping the Redbirds post a 10-strikeout team effort, and earlier in the season he was recognized for a stretch of 19 IP, 26 K, 1 BB, and 1 ER. He stands out for strike-throwing efficiency, bat-missing stuff, and a frame that suggests more room for growth. If you want a power arm with real swing-and-miss upside, he’s a strong fit.
