Evan Fitzner brought Indiana instant floor-spacing from the frontcourt
In the 2018 season, Evan Fitzner’s value at Indiana was obvious: a 6-foot-10 forward who could stretch the floor, he shot 40.0% from three at St. Mary’s in 2017-18 and quickly flashed that fit by scoring 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting against No. 24 Marquette. He wasn’t a volume star, but his shooting touch, size, and ability to open the court made him a clean schematic fit for a Hoosiers team that needed spacing. If you want a big who can punish help defense and give you offensive flexibility, Fitzner was the kind of low-drama, high-function fit coaches love.
