Farina’s bat has translated fast to the Big Ten stage
Michael Farina, Illinois’ 6-foot-1 junior infielder, has made an immediate impact after transferring in from Southeastern CC, where he hit .323 with a .452 OBP, 10 homers and 53 RBI in 2024. In his Division I debut in the 2026 season, he went 2-for-3 with a homer, double and two runs scored, and he kept getting on base early while showing extra-base pop and some sneaky run production. The fit looks strong for a lineup that wants a right-handed bat with contact, gap power and enough athleticism to affect games beyond the box score.
