Houston’s 6-11 comeback big still has real upside
McFarland is a classic patience-and-upside center: in the 2025-26 season he finally saw brief game action for Houston after a redshirt year and a devastating leg injury that cost him the entire 2024-25 season, so the story here is resilience as much as production. At 6-11 and 225 pounds, he offers the kind of rim size Kelvin Sampson loves, but his current stat line is tiny and he’s still more projection than proven rotation piece. If you want a developmental big with toughness, length and a comeback arc, he’s intriguing; if you need immediate frontcourt production, he’s not there yet.
