Avery Sapp gives Iowa a proven innings-eater with strikeout juice
Avery Sapp is a seasoned right-handed pitcher who has already been a workhorse for Iowa, leading the staff with a career-high 97 strikeouts in 139.1 innings in the 2026 season and reaching 160 career strikeouts in 230.1 innings. She brings durability, experience, and enough bat-missing ability to stabilize a rotation, while her value goes beyond the box score as a multi-year starter who has handled heavy usage and high-leverage outs. If you want a dependable RHP with upside and toughness, she’s a very real fit.
