Winthrop’s Evan Vandenbosch looks like a strike-throwing lefty with draft buzz, even if the results have been uneven
In the 2026 season, Evan Vandenbosch has shown enough arm talent and left-handed value to earn a D1Baseball Big South draft ranking, but his production has been mixed: he opened as Winthrop’s projected starter, took a tough loss against Princeton on March 10, and later delivered a strong 4.0-inning, 6-strikeout outing in a win over Davidson on March 24. Winthrop’s own notes list him as the No. 12 Big South prospect for the 2026 draft, which hints at a live arm with upside. He’s a fit if you want a projectable LHP who can compete in the league now and may keep getting better.
