Nicholas Rizzo gives Stony Brook innings, strikeout upside, and starter grit
In the 2026 season, Stony Brook left-hander Nicholas Rizzo logged 15 appearances and 7 starts, finishing with a 1-4 record, 9.08 ERA, and 35 strikeouts in 39.2 innings, while ranking fourth on the team in both innings and strikeouts. His best flashes were punchy: a season-high 7 strikeouts over 3.2 scoreless innings at St. John’s and a clean 2.0-inning outing in the regular-season finale vs. Hofstra. He looks like a competitor who can miss bats, absorb starter work, and survive tough weekends—useful if a staff wants a lefty with upside and some grind to his game.
